After its voluntary entry into bankruptcy proceedings in 2012, TecniToys, holder of the Scalextric rights, reached a bridge agreement for commercialization with Educa-Borrás until the auction. In early 2013, the Luxembourg company Winkler International obtained the exploitation rights for the Scalextric brand in Spain, and thanks to the commercial success achieved during the Christmas campaign by Fábrica de Juguetes S.L.U. (a subsidiary of Educa-Borrás), the Alicante-based company reached an agreement to exclusively distribute Scalextric brand products both nationally and internationally. The period lasted until 2018, when business exploitation disagreements between Fábrica de Juguetes and Winkler International caused the brand's exploitation license not to be renewed. During this period, the evolution of the digital system from SDS to WOS, the Scalextric Digital wireless system, stands out.
