The Ferrari 308 GTB, introduced in 1975 and designed by Pininfarina, formed the basis of a rally version developed by Michelotto from 1978 with Ferrari’s support. Prepared for Group 4, it featured a naturally aspirated, mid-mounted three-litre V8 producing over 296 hp, rear-wheel drive, a lightweight body and suspension adapted for competition. The Charles Pozzi team campaigned it with Jean-Claude Andruet, who won the Tour de France Automobile in 1981 and 1982. In the 1982 Tour de Corse, Andruet and “Biche” finished second. Altaya based its “Rally Míticos” collection model on this car, although it used Exin’s Ferrari GTO mould.
