Commercialisation year2001
In 2001, Altaya launched the “Coches Míticos” collection, featuring cars manufactured in China by Tecnitoys using, according to the promotional leaflets, Exin’s original moulds. The collection comprised 48 instalments, published between September 2001 and August 2002. It was subsequently reissued around 2004. This Mini Cooper, finished in red with a white roof and race number 177, recalls the Exin C-45 model launched in 1971, although it closely resembles Tecnitoys reference 6073, also released in 2001 and inspired by the car that won Monte Carlo in 1967. Like the Exin and Tecnitoys models, it has no lights and is fitted with an RX-4 motor driving the rear wheels.

Year1967
The Mini Cooper S was introduced in 1963 as an evolution of the Mini Cooper developed with John Cooper. It retained the transverse front-mounted engine and front-wheel drive; a 1,275 cc version was added in 1964. The BMC works team won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 1965 and 1967 with this model. The last of these victories was achieved by Rauno Aaltonen and Henry Liddon in car number 177, reproduced by Altaya in its “Coches Míticos” collection.
