For its model reference A10074S300, Tecnitoys drew inspiration from the Seat Fura Crono with which Juan Escavias finished in first place in his category (Copa Fura) at the 1983 “Pujada al Montseny”, ahead of Marcelino Boy, though well behind overall winner Mauro Nesti. The SEAT Fura was a small economy car that, in the early 1980s, had a notable presence in regional rallies and hillclimbs across Spain. Thanks to its low weight, simple mechanics and affordable running costs, it became a regular fixture in promotional cups and regional competitions. The more powerful Fura Crono 1.4 version was the most widely used in competition, particularly by privateers and small teams. It played a key role as an entry-level car within the grassroots motorsport scene of the era.
