In 2012, its final year of marketing Scalextric models, Tecnitoys launched this Citroën 2CV Sahara model with reference A10068S300. Like the previous year's model, it came with four-wheel drive powered by a dual-axle "RK-11.1" motor, front and rear LED lights, and a tilting guide that allows it to adapt to track elevation changes. The car carries no logos or decals and does not reproduce any rally car; it is most likely inspired by a real vehicle corresponding to the original 2CV Sahara 657.

The A10068S300 Citroën 2CV Sahara model was marketed under the name "Original 657", although the exact meaning of that number has not been documented by the manufacturer. It does not correspond to any known Scalextric reference or official Citroën code. However, there is a real Citroën 2CV Sahara — unit 657 out of the 694 ever built — which became relatively well known for its history: it was delivered in 1965 in Nigeria to a British anthropologist who used it for long journeys across the desert, eventually crossing the Sahara while fleeing the Nigerian Civil War of 1967. It is possible that the SCX model name refers to this historic car, although the livery does not faithfully reproduce that specific vehicle, meaning the connection, if it exists at all, would be purely evocative.
