The MG MGA was a British sports car produced by MG between 1955 and 1962. It was a lightweight roadster with a four-cylinder engine of 1.5 to 1.6 litres and rear-wheel drive, known for its fine balance between performance and handling. Thanks to its lightness and reliability, it was used by numerous private teams in European rallies in the late 1950s. In 1956, British crew members Nancy Mitchell and Pat Faichney took first place in the "Coupe des dames" (15th place overall) at the Rallye des Alpes, driving an MGA. Tecnitoys used that car as the basis for its reference A10039S300.
