Ibiza Kit Car

In 1996 Tyco launched a new model, the Seat Ibiza Kit Car, in two versions with references 8375 and 8390. Both came without lights and with rear-wheel drive. This model in white color, #1 and "ROBERT MERCADER" livery carries reference 8390 and decals from the Critèrium del Berguedà with the names Ventura / Sureda. The car was surely inspired by the car with which these drivers won that XXIV Critèrium, although in reality it should be a Seat Ibiza 16V.

SEAT Sport, directed by Jordi Servià and with support from the Volkswagen Group, developed a competition version based on the Seat Ibiza II (1993-1999): the Seat Ibiza Kit Car. The car debuted in 1995 and quickly became a reference within the category. In 1996 Jordi Ventura and Joan Sureda obtained first place at the Critèrium del Berguedà at the controls of a Seat Ibiza 16V. Tyco reproduced the livery of this car in their Ibiza Kit Car mold and marketed it with reference 8390.
