Lancer

In 2002, Tecnitoys marketed three versions of the Mitsubishi Lancer, although somewhat different from the previous ones to adapt the bodywork to the new real EVO VII model. This model with reference 8053b is identical to model reference 6089 but with "mud effect" and came included in the "Australia Circuit". In red, with #8, "RALLY ART" decoration, with Monte Carlo Rally decals and the names of drivers A. McRae and D. Senior on the rear windows, it is a replica of the real 2002 Monte Carlo car.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII WRC, which debuted at the San Remo Rally in October 2001, represented a radical change from previous versions. The new WRC was designed according to World Rally Car regulations, which allowed much greater freedom of modification than Group A, especially in engine, transmission and bodywork. The Evo VII was built on the larger Lancer Cedia chassis, a bigger and more advanced car than the Lancers on which previous Evos were based. Alister McRae and David Senior with a Mitsubishi Lancer WRC EVO VII from the Marlboro Mitsubishi Ralliart team achieved a fourteenth position at the 2002 Monte Carlo Rally. Tecnitoys based its model reference 6089 on this car.
