The Renault 8 Gordini was a French sports car that stood out in rally racing between the mid-1960s and early 1970s. Equipped with 1100 and 1300 cc engines, rear-wheel drive, and rear-mounted engine, it became one of the most popular and competitive cars in national and European rallies. Its low weight and demanding character made it ideal for private drivers and single-brand cups, being key in the training of an entire generation of rally drivers. At the wheel of a Renault 8 Gordini 1300, Jean-Luc Therier and Marcel Callewaert achieved fifth place in the 38th Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo in 1969. This car served as the model for Tecnitoys for its reference 6316.
