In 2006, Tecnitoys commercialized a new version of the Citroën C2 JWRC with reference 6232. Like the previous versions, it featured rear-wheel drive, front and rear LED lights, and steering with an automatic return system. This #41 model featured decals from the Rally Catalonia – Costa Daurada and the name Sordo on the rear windows. Tecnitoys was inspired by the actual car that competed in that rally in 2005.

The Citroën C2 Super 1600 officially debuted in 2004 as a replacement for the Saxo Kit Car within the entry-level ladder to the WRC. It was equipped with a 1.6 naturally aspirated engine of approximately 215 horsepower, front-wheel drive, and a sequential gearbox, and was one of the dominant cars in the JWRC. Dani Sordo and Marc Martí drove the 41st Rally RACC Catalonia-Costa Daurada in 2005 in a Citroën C2 S1600, achieving first place in the JWRC category and dropping to twelfth in the overall classification. Tecnitoys based its model reference 6232 on this car.
