Focus

In 2002, Tecnitoys marketed a new version of the Ford Focus with reference 6106. The car, like previous versions, came with front and rear lights by optical transmission and four-wheel drive by a double-axle motor. This model with "FORD / TELEFONICA" #4 decoration and mud effect was inspired by the Focus driven by C.Sainz and L.Moya in the 2002 Kenya Safari Rally. Although this car was the WRC '02 version, Tecnitoys kept the mold from previous Focus models which was quite similar. The external exhaust pipe was probably a license taken by Tecnitoys compared to the original model.

At the 2002 Kenya Safari Rally, Carlos Sainz and Luis Moya competed with a Ford Focus WRC '02 from the Ford Motor Co. Ltd team, although they couldn't finish the race due to an oil pump failure. Despite the fact that McRae and Grist won the event with an identical car, Tecnitoys chose to reproduce Carlos Sainz's #4 car for model 6106. The WRC'02 was an evolution of the 2001 WRC, with a triple air outlet hood, improvements in cooling, electronics and engine reliability, but the same chassis and transmission. Tecnitoys continued using the 2001 mold.
