Impreza

In 2001, Tecnitoys marketed two new versions of the Subaru Impreza, with references 6079 and 6080, although like the real model with the bodywork evolved to the WRC model. Both versions in blue came with fiber optic lights, four-wheel drive through a dual-axle motor, and the new guide with automatic return system (A.R.S.). The model reference 6079 with #5, livery from the Rally Catalunya-Costa Brava and the names of Burns and Reid on the rear windows, is a reproduction of the real car that competed in that rally in 2001.

In 2001, Richard Burns and Robert Reid at the helm of a Subaru Impreza S7 WRC '01 from the Subaru World Rally Team finished in seventh position at the Rally Catalunya-Costa Brava. This car served as the model for Tecnitoys' reference 6079. That same year, 2001, both crew members with Subaru won the WRC world title. The 2001 Impreza WRC (S7) was the first WRC based on the new GD chassis: more rigid, with redesigned suspensions, better weight distribution, and more effective engine management. It represented a notable advance in stability, traction, and reliability compared to the 1999 and 2000 Impreza WRC models.
