In 2000, Tecnitoys marketed three new versions of the Peugeot 206: two in metallic grey with references 6025 and 6048, and a third one with a "mud effect" with reference 6051. Like the model from the previous year, they came with front and rear lights with fiber optic transmission, four-wheel drive through a dual-axle motor and a tilting guide. This "mud effect" model with reference 6051 and "ESSO" livery bears the decal of the Spanish Gravel Rally Championship and the names of Muniente / Pujol on the rear windows. The following year, this same model appeared in the Peugeot Copa circuit set. The real car that inspired Tecnitoys for this model was possibly the one they drove in the Cartagena Rally in 2000.

The Peugeot 206 represented the transition from front-wheel drive cars like the 306 Maxi to an authentic World Rally Car with four-wheel drive and a 2-litre turbo engine producing around 300 HP. Compact, agile and technologically advanced, it introduced active differentials and carefully studied aerodynamics, marking a radical leap from its predecessors and soon becoming a world champion car. Manuel Muniente and Guifré Pujol competed in the 2000 Cartagena City Rally at the wheel of a Peugeot 206, although they were unable to finish the event after breaking one of the vehicle's axles. It is quite likely that Tecnitoys was inspired by this car for its reference model 6051.
