Lancer

In 1998 Tecnitoys acquired the Tyco license for the marketing of Scalextric in Spain and debuted with a new model, the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IV, with three different liveries with references 6000, 6001 and 6002. The model came with lights, four-wheel drive powered by a dual-axle motor and the novelty of a guide with suspension. Variants have been described as "made in Spain" and "made in China". Reference 6002 corresponds to a red model with #1 and "MITSUBISHI MOTORS / RALLI ART" livery. The car bears decals from "Rally Australia" and the crew Mäkinen / Harjanne, being a replica of the car they drove in the 1997 Rally Australia.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution was born in 1992 as the "homologation evolution" of the Lancer to replace the Galant VR-4 in rallying. The Evolution IV was launched in August 1996 with a completely redesigned platform and the engine rotated 180° for better weight distribution. In 1997 Tommi Mäkinen and Seppo Harjanne driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IV obtained second position in the 1997 Rally Australia. The actual vehicle matches the Tecnitoys model, although in the latter the original tobacco brand livery was omitted.
