M3

In 1989 Exin echoed the successes that BMW was achieving in the rally circuit and marketed 4 versions of the BMW M3 throughout the year with references 4090 to 4093. All came with a closed rear-wheel drive motor. This white "Telefunken" model with reference 4090 and #8, bears the Rally Catalunya 1987 decal. The model is a replica of the real car with which Bassas and Autet raced in that rally.

The real BMW M3 based on the E30, features a 4-cylinder S14 DOHC 16-valve engine (2.3–2.5 L) with 200–238 HP in street versions, capable of reaching 300 HP at ~8,000 rpm for competition S14 engines. In the 1987 Rally Catalunya, Pep Bassas and Josep Autet scored second place with a BMW M3 in "Telefunken" livery with #8, which undoubtedly inspired Exin for their model.
