In 1985 Exin marketed two versions of the Lancia 037 (white and blue colors) with compact motor. The models with reference 4073 came with lights while reference 4074 came without lights. In series after 1985, reference 4073/74/76 can be seen on the same chassis, the latter corresponding to the Lancia 037 "Rothmans". The blue model with "Pioneer/Total" livery carries the decal from the 16th Rally de la Baule 1989 and JC. Andruet. It matches quite well with the real model #1 from the 16th Rally de la Baule, but it was actually in 1983.

The Lancia Rally 037 was a car developed for the FIA World Rally Championship Group B, debuting in 1982. Designed by Abarth and manufactured based on the Lancia Montecarlo with Pininfarina bodywork, it featured a Roots-type supercharged Abarth engine (Volumex) and double wishbone suspension. Jean-Claude Andruet won the 16th Rallye International de La Baule in 1983, with a Lancia 037 (Team Chardonnet) and Martine Rick-Place as co-driver. The Exin model's livery, although not identical, is possibly inspired by this car, especially considering it carries the Rally decal albeit with a different year.
