Scalextric (Exin Spain) introduced the Lancia Stratos in 1977 under reference 4055, initially manufacturing it in four base colors: red, yellow, green, and white. All these versions shared the same mold and general design, but with different sponsorship decorations. Specifically, Exin offered two main decorations: "Alitalia" (official sponsorship from 1974) in white and yellow colors, and "Marlboro" (official sponsorship until 1974, and private from that year onwards) in green and red colors. To the latter, Exin added the "Grundig" sponsorship which did not match reality. The green and yellow colors also do not correspond in reality to the "Alitalia" or "Marlboro" decorations. Each decoration carried different competition numbers: in the "Alitalia" decoration they could be #5 or #8, while in the "Marlboro/Grundig" decoration they corresponded to #3 or #6. This first series features an open motor (RX-1), chrome fuel caps, orange-colored wheels, and a mixture of decoration techniques: some parts were painted directly on the bodywork while others had decals or stickers. In this model, the white triangle of the nose logo and the Marlboro logo on the roof are painted, while the side logos are stickers. Although this car does not faithfully correspond to a real car, it represents quite realistically the Stratos that ran in the 1974 Tour de France Automobile.

In the 1974 Tour de France Automobile, the Lancia team entered a Stratos with "Marlboro" sponsorship, driven by Jean Claude Andruet and his co-driver Michèle Espinosi Petit, nicknamed "Biche". This team, which carried #137, achieved an impressive third place in the overall classification. The winner was a Ligier JS2, followed by another similar car. The decoration of the Exin car does not faithfully correspond to the original model.
