Jean-Luc Therier (1945–2019) was one of the great pioneers of modern rally racing in France. A key figure for Alpine-Renault, he was world runner-up in 1971 and winner of the 1973 Monte-Carlo Rally with the legendary A110. Later he also excelled with Porsche, achieving significant victories such as the 1978 Acropolis Rally with the 911 SC, and in the 1980s he competed at the highest level with the Renault 5 Turbo. His fast but highly technical style made him a reference point in the transition between "artisanal" rally racing and the professional era.
