Carlos Sousa

Carlos Sousa is a Portuguese rally-raid driver with a very solid track record in the Dakar Rally and in international off-road competitions. He competed at the highest level during the 1990s and 2000s, and is especially known for his long association with Mitsubishi, the brand with which he competed in numerous Dakar editions behind the wheel of the Pajero Evolution. Before focusing on desert racing, Carlos Sousa had a presence in conventional rallies and Portuguese national events, but it was in off-road racing where he achieved greater prominence, standing out for his consistency, mechanical reliability, and ability to complete extremely demanding events. He achieved several top-10 finishes in the Dakar, establishing himself as one of the most competitive private drivers of his era and a reference in Portuguese rally-raid.
