Carlos Sousa

Carlos Sousa is a Portuguese driver specialising in rally raids. He made his Dakar Rally debut in 1996 with Mitsubishi and over the following years competed in various models from the manufacturer, including the Pajero and the Strada/Strakar versions.

His most notable season came in 2003. Alongside co-driver Henri Magne in a Mitsubishi L200 Strakar, he finished fourth overall on the Dakar, his best result in the event, and that same year won the FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup. He later continued competing on the Dakar with other manufacturers, including Nissan and Volkswagen, recording numerous top-ten finishes.
