Fabrizia Pons

Fabrizia Pons (Turin, 26 June 1955) is an Italian rally driver and co-driver. She began her career behind the wheel and finished ninth on the 1978 Rally Sanremo. Her best-known period came as Michèle Mouton’s co-driver, forming a crew with the French driver between 1981 and 1986.

With Mouton and the Audi Quattro she won the 1981 Rally Sanremo, the first outright World Rally Championship victory by an all-female crew, and accompanied her throughout the 1982 campaign in which Mouton finished runner-up in the drivers’ championship. That same year Pons received the Halda Trophy, one of the traditional awards for co-drivers.

She later continued competing with other drivers. In 1997 she won the Monte Carlo Rally alongside Piero Liatti and also built an important rally-raid career, co-driving for Jutta Kleinschmidt and Ari Vatanen. With Kleinschmidt she finished third on the 2005 Dakar Rally.
