Gilles Picard

Gilles Picard (Nancy, France, 1955) is a former motorcycle racer and French rally-raid co-driver. He competed in the Dakar on motorcycles from 1985 to 1992 and achieved several stage victories before moving into co-driving in 1993.

As a navigator he worked with various drivers and teams, including Ari Vatanen and Mitsubishi. His main results came on the Dakar Rally: in 1998 he won overall alongside Jean-Pierre Fontenay in a Mitsubishi Pajero and in 2006 repeated the victory with Luc Alphand, also with Mitsubishi. His career also included other international rally-raid events such as the Rallye de Tunisie and Baja España-Aragón.
