Gilles Picard
França Gilles Picard (born in Nancy, France in 1955) is a French rally-raid co-driver and former motorcycle racer with an extensive career in the Dakar Rally and other cross-country competitions. He began his sporting career on motorcycles, competing in the Dakar from the mid-1980s until the early 1990s, where he participated in numerous editions, accumulating several stage victories and strong results before definitively transitioning to the co-driver role starting in 1993. As a navigator, he earned a reputation working with different drivers and manufacturers, especially with Mitsubishi Pajero, becoming one of the most experienced co-drivers of his generation. His most notable results at the Dakar include two victories in 1998 and 2006. Outside of the Dakar, he has also participated and achieved success in other rally-raid competitions such as the Rally of Tunisia and cross-country races, both on motorcycles and in cars.
