Luis Rodríguez Moya
Espanya Luis Rodríguez Moya (A Coruña, 23 September 1960) is a former Spanish rally co-driver, best known for his long partnership with Carlos Sainz. Between 1988 and 2002 they contested 161 World Rally Championship events together, winning the 1990 and 1992 titles as well as achieving 24 victories and 83 podiums. The partnership became one of the leading combinations in the WRC during the 1990s.
After retiring as a co-driver at the end of 2002, Moya moved into management and advisory roles. He was sporting director of the Subaru World Rally Team from 2003 to 2006 and was later involved with Volkswagen Motorsport as an adviser and ambassador. His phrase “¡Trata de arrancarlo, Carlos!”, spoken after the mechanical failure that cost them the title on the 1998 Rally of Great Britain, became associated with one of the most memorable episodes of his career. In 2024 he was appointed captain of the Spanish team for the FIA Motorsport Games.
