Ramón Mínguez
Espanya Ramón Mínguez is a Spanish rally co-driver whose most notable period was linked to Genito Ortiz and Renault’s rally programmes during the 1980s. In 1983 he partnered Ortiz in the FASA-Renault Renault 5 Turbo during the season in which the driver won the Spanish championship. Their most notable results included outright victory on the 1983 Rally El Corte Inglés, a round of the European Rally Championship, as well as victory on that year’s Rally Príncipe de Asturias.
Mínguez later remained involved in Spanish rallying and again shared a car with Guillermo Barreras. Together they competed on gravel with the Renault 5 Maxi Turbo 4×4 and later the Citroën AX 4×4. His career is particularly associated with a period of major technical and sporting development in Spanish rallying.
