Innes Ireland

Innes Ireland (Mytholmroyd, United Kingdom, 12 June 1930 – Reading, October 1993) was a British racing driver and former paratroop officer. He competed in the Formula One World Championship between 1959 and 1966, mainly with Team Lotus.

In 1961 he won the United States Grand Prix, his only championship Formula One victory and Team Lotus's first win in a World Championship Grand Prix. After his main single-seater career he continued competing in sports cars and endurance racing. In 1968 he shared a Lancia Fulvia HF with Stirling Moss and Claudio Maglioli in the Nürburgring Marathon de la Route. He later also worked as a motorsport journalist and writer.
