Arne Hertz
Suècia Arne Hertz (Sweden, 6 June 1939) is a Swedish co-driver whose international career continued until the late 1990s. He initially competed with drivers including Stig Blomqvist and Ove Andersson, but the most important period of his career was his partnership with Hannu Mikkola, which ran from 1977 to 1987 and again in 1990. Together they achieved 15 World Rally Championship victories in cars including the Ford Escort RS1800, Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC and Audi Quattro.
Hertz’s greatest success came in 1983, when he became world co-drivers’ champion alongside Mikkola with Audi. He was also part of the works Mercedes-Benz programme in 1979 and 1980 and later worked with drivers such as Armin Schwarz and Yoshio Fujimoto. With Schwarz he won the 1991 Rally Catalunya-Costa Brava in a Toyota Celica GT-Four. Over his career he recorded 18 WRC event victories.
