Nicky Grist is a former British rally co-driver. In 1993 he replaced Juha Piironen as Juha Kankkunen’s co-driver after Piironen suffered a brain haemorrhage. Grist won the 1993 Rally Argentina with Kankkunen, his first World Rally Championship victory, and partnered the Finn during the season in which he secured his fourth world title. The crew competed regularly together until 1996.
In 1997 Grist became Colin McRae’s co-driver at Subaru and later continued with him when the Scot moved to Ford. Their regular partnership ended in 2002, although they competed together again on later events through 2006. Grist contested 128 WRC rallies and achieved 21 victories and 43 podium finishes.
