Mattias Ekström

Mattias Ekström (Falun, Sweden, 14 July 1978) is a Swedish motorsport driver who has excelled in circuit racing, rallycross and rally raid. He gained international fame as an official Audi driver in the DTM, a championship he won in 2004 and 2007. He subsequently became one of the leading figures in rallycross, claiming the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2016 with his own team, EKS. He has also competed in the World Rally Championship, the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (which he won in 2011) and Extreme E. He made his Rally Dakar debut in 2021 and from 2022 competed regularly with Audi and later with Ford, achieving several stage victories and establishing himself as one of the most versatile drivers of his generation.
