Paul Coltelloni

Paul Coltelloni (Levallois-Perret, France, 15 October 1917 – Paris, 10 July 1999) was a French rally driver active mainly during the 1950s. Although his career in professional motorsport was not particularly long, he achieved a prominent place in the history of European rallying towards the end of that decade. His greatest success came in 1959, when he won the Rallye Automobile de Monte-Carlo driving a Citroën ID 19 alongside co-drivers Pierre Alexandre and Claude Desrosiers. The victory was especially remarkable because the car was a privately entered vehicle, and it represented Citroën's first major international rally triumph, demonstrating the potential of the model's hydropneumatic suspension on snowy mountain roads. Although he competed in various international events in the following years, his sporting career was relatively brief, and his fame remained linked above all to that victory in Monte Carlo.
