Josep Basols Aguilera

Josep “Pep” Basols Aguilera is a Catalan rally driver particularly associated with Spanish national gravel competition. For more than a decade he was a regular competitor in the Spanish Gravel Rally Championship, driving a variety of cars and progressing from production-based categories to R5 machinery.

One of his most notable seasons was 2018, when he competed for the MRW Rally Team. He began the year in a Citroën DS3 R5 and switched to a Škoda Fabia R5 during the second half of the season, scoring several podium finishes. He ended the Spanish Gravel Rally Championship in third place. Basols continued competing in the series in 2019, remaining one of the regular drivers in Spain’s national gravel rally scene.
