Guillermo Barreras

Guillermo Barreras Larramendi is a former Spanish rally driver, particularly associated with national gravel competition during the 1980s. His main success came in 1985, when he won the Spanish Gravel Rally Championship in a Renault 5 Turbo, establishing himself as one of the country’s leading specialists on the surface.

In 1987 he joined the works Renault team and competed on asphalt in a Renault 11 Turbo, with Luis Moya as his co-driver. That year they finished second on the Rally San Froilán. In 1988 Barreras again achieved a notable result with the Renault 5 Maxi Turbo 4×4, finishing third on the Rally RACE Avilés. He later remained active in gravel rallying, using cars including the Citroën AX 4×4 and, in the final stage of his career, a Lancia Delta HF Integrale.
