Didier Auriol

Didier Auriol (Montpellier, France, 18 August 1958) is a French rally driver. He began competing in 1979 and made his World Rally Championship debut on the 1984 Tour de Corse in a Renault 5 Turbo. He became French rally champion in 1986, 1987 and 1988.

His first WRC victory came on the 1988 Tour de Corse in a Ford Sierra RS Cosworth. He later competed for manufacturers including Lancia, Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Peugeot and Škoda. In 1994 he became World Rally Champion with Toyota and was the first French driver to win the title. Over his career he achieved 20 WRC victories.
