Ove Andersson

Ove Andersson (Sweden, 1938 – South Africa, 11 June 2008) was a rally driver and later a team manager. As a driver he achieved some of his main victories in the early 1970s, including the 1971 Rallye Monte-Carlo in an Alpine-Renault A110 with David Stone as co-driver.

In the World Rally Championship he won the 1975 Safari Rally in a Peugeot 504 with Arne Hertz. In parallel he developed an increasingly close relationship with Toyota and created Andersson Motorsport, the organisation that later became Toyota Team Europe and for decades ran the manufacturer's European motorsport activities. He died in 2008 during the Milligan Vintage Trial, a historic-vehicle event in South Africa.
