← Back to drivers

Ove Andersson (1938, Sweden) was a Swedish rally driver and one of the key figures in European motorsport during the 1960s and 70s. He reached the peak of his racing career by winning the 1971 Monte-Carlo Rally with an Alpine-Renault A110, a legendary edition of the rally due to its start system from different European cities. After his time as a driver, Andersson left perhaps an even greater legacy off the wheel as director of Toyota Team Europe. He died in 2008 as a result of an accident while participating in the Safari Rally Legends in South Africa
